The 3-Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari is tailored for travelers with a short time in Uganda or Rwanda. The tour’s main highlight is an up-close trekking experience along the endangered mountain gorillas in the UNESCO heritage site of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. A trek alongside these gentle apes in their rainforest homes is dubbed as the most humbling lifetime experience by many adventurers. This tour is ready to begin from Kampala/Entebbe driving straight onto the southern sector of Bwindi where tracking will be. For an international traveler, a shorter alternative is arriving in Rwanda’s capital of Kigali and be picked up to cross into Uganda from either Katuna or Chanika borders to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Detailed Itinerary for 3-Days Gorilla Tracking Bwindi
Arrival Day
On arrival at the airport either Entebbe or Kigali you will be met by our company representative who will transfer yo to your booked lodge and thereafter brief you on the upcoming safari.
Accommodation before the start of the safari and pick up from the airport will be arranged at an extra cost.
Safari Day One: Transfer to Bwindi
This morning your driver guide will meet you at your hotel or residence, after introductions and briefing, you’ll drive towards Bwindi located south-west of Kampala or north-west of Kigali. The long drive will have scenic stops on the Equator line and a lunch stop near the town of Mbarara. The scenery along this drive is punctuated by expansive swamps, rolling hills, colorful food markets, and fertile terraced hillsides. Scenic and hot lunch stops will be afforded. Your booked hotel is set along the Bwindi Forest national park only 20minutes from the gorilla tracking trailhead. After dinner, your guide will brief you on tomorrow’s tracking activity mentioning the expectations, dress code and packing list.

Day Two: Gorilla Tracking Experience Day
Early this morning, your driver will transfer you to the visitors center, where ranger guides will take you through a safety briefing session about activity by UWA ranger. Thereafter you will be put into an 8-group team and allocated one habituated group for tracking. You will have final checks on your packing that must include a rain jacket/poncho, plenty of drinking water, and packed lunch or snack.
At the trail head, you will be offered a walking stick (highly recommended) and also hire a porter (minimum 15 USD) to help carry that heavy backpack. Ranger guides will thereafter lead you on a trek to where that mountain gorilla family might be feeding that morning. The trekking experience duration largely rests on the weather that day and the location of the group but anything from 3 to 6hrs is normal. Afternoon rest at your lodge.

Day Three: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to Kampala having a scenic and lunch stop on the way. Drop point at your preferred accommodation.
